I would also like to know how much money was actually saved by letting the weeds get out of control for 3 months. I cannot see that we saved money when the landscapers are going to have to spend so much time and energy on not just spraying weeds to get rid of them but get rid of all the dead plants and cleanup. I have seen some progress, but very little and that proves my point, that the lanscapers have to be in one area for so long because it is so bad in some spots...

AS far as I understand it they aren't charging anything extra for the large clean up it was included in the normal monthly fee.  So everything that was saved was truly saved and I *believe* it was around $50K to $60K for that time that was saved.

...and our CC&R's read that they have a responsibility to keep it up at all times... and we as homeowners were never even notified properly. Thanks that they didn't charge us, but they didn't fulfill their end of the HOA contract either during this time. But, hey, we still have to pay our dues, right? If your 2 year contract with Direct TV missed giving you cable for 3 months, would you pay? Would you? This place looks like crap and we as homeowners still paid during the time it was not kept up. Oh, yeah, that's right... we have to still pay our dues for the 5 street lights and the water that was probably turned off during this time, too. Sorry to be so negative, I just don't get why this is allowed to happen and it be our fault for not agreeing with it.

So we just want the HOA to live "paycheck to paycheck"?  We don't ever want to be able to build a rec facility?  Or put in volleyball courts, or tennis courts or anything FUN in this huge subdivision?  I find it sick that a small subdivision like Meadow Vista has a POOL and Circle Cross has TONS of ammenities and we have NOTHING.  Well the only option would be to put it in but that costs money.  Yes you still have to pay, it goes towards management fees, legal fees, trash collection, and other things and yes to build a SURPLUS in our account so maybe one day the HOA can stop living "paycheck to paycheck".  I'd love to see extras in the community one day and see a little more

comradery in the community. No if I had DirecTV and they stopped my service I wouldn't continue to pay but they also don't provide anything other than that and I'm not trying to build up excess funds with them.  We are not required to be notified.  They held more than one open meeting on the matter, those who chose to attend did, those that chose not to didn't and that's fine there's no issue with that, but then everyone had the chance to voice their opinion if they chose to.

Why continue to beat a dead horse?  The weeds ARE being cleaned up, in fact I noticed just 2 days ago that the north side of Castlegate had been cleaned up from Schnepf Road at least as far as Orkney (that's as far as I went), so there IS progress being made, Oasis and the board are making sure progress is being made, and everyone is working hard to have it looking back to normal by the end of May.
