Street Parking
Max,
Enforcement and compliance are different beasts. The Board of Directors (BoD) goal is to get homeowners to comply with the CC&R's. The BoD is not interested in taking people?’s money. We are not interested in making money. We are not interested in causing hardships. Compliance is all we aim for.
The Board of Directors is trying to get compliance in several ways. The newsletter that will be going out in the next week will have a reminder about street parking, along with other important CC&R?’s. If a violation is reported, a letter is sent to the homeowner reminding them of the violation. If the violation continues, fines can be imposed. The BoD does have a due process on handling violations.
As for the street parking, we do want people to comply. The BoD does not allow people to park on the street. Case in point: Camper trailers parked on the corner of street, blocking the view of the cross street to see oncoming traffic. This happens very frequently.
The problem the BoD is facing are those homeowners who believe they do not need to follow the CC&R's. The BoD can fine a homeowner every week, but that does not force the homeowner to move that vehicle or comply with the CC&R's. The fines continue to be imposed, but the homeowner fails to comply.
There are those homeowners who have changed their habits. It is happening, unfortunately not fast enough. The BoD wants to remedy this problem as quickly as possible and we are looking at all possible avenues.
