rates

Wouldn't the rates go up because you insist on reporting it yourself? If my house was damaged and I chose to fix it on my own, my rates wouldn't go up. But if I reported it, then the rates would go up. Isn't this the same concept? Why would you risk increasing rates when its the rates increasing that has you so worked up? Or is this just a form of a threat- fix the equipment now or else I'm going to report it so that the homeowner's association fees go up because the insurance rates go up and then you won't get re-elected.
I also would like to commend Dave on his professionalism. I find it very difficult not to respond in the same tone that this person uses. He is also the only board member that even monitors or responds- he is someone that works for the people and that is a great leader. I hope that he thinks about running for the city council in the future- with his track record with the HOA I would consider voting for him.

when dealing with risk management it takes a person of above average intelligence to fully understand the workings and consequences of the program. if i choose to report the broken equipment there is only a chance the rates will increase, however if the report is not made and someone gets hurt the HOA will be personally liable as well as the insurance carrier, and in this day and age do you really want to risk that possibility. should someone get hurt the rates will increase 2 fold plus it will be very difficult to find an agency to write the policy as no agency will want to expose themselves to such neglect and financial risk.
as for mr. sobleman and the rest of the board it is quite obvious this is a volunteer position with no required credentials. in my profession there are no room for errors and i expect that in all leadership roles.

You know what? I'm not going to be above responding negatively. I understand that we should all be professional and courteous on this board because there really isn't any other way to get things done effectively but I am sick of you and your posts about the playground equipment. I am sick of your negativity and comments about how this neighborhood HOA is not doing it's job, about how they're incompetent and about how they have no credentials. You're attacking David Sobelman and to be honest with you, he's the only board member that I've consistently had faith in. He voted no when the old board members voted yes to spending thousands on golf carts, he's always trying to organize community events and he even organizes the entire HOA news letter pretty much by himself. He genuinally cares about this neighborhood and for some reason that I don't know, he's remained professional and tactful with you and your stupid comments and attacks. I've gone to several board meetings, I've seen what the board does and the good that comes from having it. I could give a rat's a*s about your ''professional opinion'' simply because you are so vague and refuse to identify who you are and why you are so focused on ripping David and this neighborhood apart. I will say this though....If one of your neighbors had trash, junk, weeds and maybe throw in a couch or a broken down washing machine in their front yard....you'd be appreciating the board then! You'd be wanting their help then, wouldn't you? And they'd be there for you. That's the purpose. Show up at the meetings, take a postive role in all of this and you just might see that the board isn't out to get you and you seem to be convinced of. God, you're a misreble person.

are you an idiot?

Did you use any intelligence before you rambled? I believe the insurance company can completely stop insuring us if they believe there are too many liabilities, can't they? Then what. Some idiot forgets how to walk and trips over a branch and decides to sue the hoa. Do our monthly dues get increased to cover the cost of this stupid lawsuit?

I'm happy to know there are no room for errors in your profession. I guess when the garbage truck pulls up to the curb, that claw on the truck has to be just right otherwise it cant grab the trash bin.
