Neighbors:
I spent almost an hour on Tuesday morning driving the neighborhood with Code Enforcement Director Curtis Lane and Code Enforcement Officer Carlos Rios.
It was an opportunity for Mr. Lane to view the worst violations, and to see first hand what the neighborhood is up against.
I asked Mr. Lane what the association can do to make the city more responsive to code violations? His reply was the need for the city to adopt a strong Vending Ordinance. This would have to begin in the city legal department. So it would be beneficial if association members contacted and put pressure on, foremost the City Legal Department, then the Mayor and City Council for the enacting of such an ordinance. I think this is something that should be addressed at the next meeting.
Mr. Lane said he would have a code enforcement representative at the next meeting.
