Good Morning,
I spent from 0430 to 0545 in and around the neighborhood on the morning of Friday the 22nd.
2 Reasons for going through the area so early were to find out if TECO had fixed the lights and also see what areas were being used as camps now that more of the buildings in the area have been secured by Code Enforcement.
TECO seems to have fixed all but 3 lights working on 15th Ave East. I submitted another work request when I came in this morning on poles 2584042045, 2582242045, and 2589342045. I recieved an automated email back but it does not include a work order #:

Yesterday I also recieved a complaint about ''welcome mats'' or ''door mats'' that have gone missing over the past couple weeks. I asked officers working in the area to keep an eye out for anyone who they saw carrying one around as it is probably from a nearby house. I also asked them to contact me if they saw any camps with a bunch of doormats so I could come take pictures.
I also noticed that about 50% of the alleyway house lights were on this morning, which is a great improvement from the last time I was in the area. It is still as not as bright as I would like it to be but it was nice to see some were on.
On the bad side I did not see 1 house in the area with thier front porch or door light on.
On the vagrant issue I only found 1 person in the area, and I must have startled him because they took off before I could even ask him anything. He ran down Republic De Cuba, and through the construction site, into Ybor City.
The property at 1712 15th Ave East has the door open, but the metal barricade over the door is still keeping people out. As the door is missing its knob I have no way of keeping it shut.
I have not recieved word back from SGT. Giguere about DUI's from the past few weeks. With the clubs in Ybor being such a hot issue at the moment I am sure he is very busy. I will post anything I hear from him.
Lastly a few people have asked me about 1708 15th Ave East. As far as I have been able to find out the last owner died 5 years ago and there is curently a lien on both the house and the property.
Please feel free to contact me if you have any problems that you would like me to look at. My Office number is 276 - 3317. or you can contact me via email at Cris.Cochran@ci.tampa.fl.us or on this message board.
Have a good weekend,
