To anyone who may have an interest.
The Bay World Public Trust is a Florida public interest think tank.
We have taken an initiative to encourage HARTline to review its' business model and consider other business models.
We believe that HARTline is failing - it is reducing service - time, days , routes, increasing fares and costs. We believe that their solution is more subsidies that only increase the cost and prolong the failure.
In contrast we ask all citizens in Hillsborough County and in this case Davis Islands who believe as we do, to suggest-recommend a new business model for HARTline.
We would like to share our model - one of HARTline being the Franchiser and a Davis Islands CommUNITY based system being the Franchisee.
Where The DI System which we call the Camelot/CommUNITY Area Transit System of CATS would select the bus - van - jitney ... of their choice, tha name of the system, the color, the route [ as a minimum - duplicating the service that HARTline provides now, with the objective to offer more mobility and choices - direct service to TPA for DI for example ...and much more.
The DI system would decide on the operating hours, the route and the drivers [ after being screened by HARTline ] the fare and fees and all other operational considerations. THe DI system would be a connector system - that takes passengers to downtown Tampa terminals to connect with the HARTline main lines ].
HARTLine would be the Franchiser and provide all the economy of scale backromm support functions that it already does ...
We would like to make contact with all DI residents, business owners, employers and employees who may have ideas and an interest in this new model or would like to offer their solution.
