Notice:  On 1/4/08 the wireless Internet service operated by Kite Networks in Tempe was shut down. Customers lost the ability to utilize the service both indoors and outdoors throughout Tempe. The telephone number listed for Kitenet Support was disconnected and the Kite Networks website is no longer reachable. This shutdown came as a surprise to customers, City officials and the company that had signed a deal with Kite Networks' owner (Gobility) to purchase the network assets.

Unfortunately, the City of Tempe does not own or operate the wireless network and therefore cannot restore service to customers. It is unknown at this time when, or if, service will be restored. The auto-billing process has been terminated. No further bills will be generated from Kite Networks. Service will be free to all customers with access until such a date that full service to the entire network can be restored. Thank you for your patience and understanding.
