On Friday, August 20th our home at 444 Brewer Drive was broken into and burglarized. The thieves made off with over $5000 worth of electronics and musical instruments. We were not home but had left our alarm system armed. This prevented a complete clean-out of our house.
The police (and myself) arrived on the scene approximately 12-13 minutes after the alarm was tripped. By the time 21 minutes had passed the thieves had pawned one of my guitars at a local pawn shop. These individuals have been involved with several incidents like these in the south Nashville area this summer, so be warned.
There are thieves that are casing our houses and hitting the seemingly most 'available' targets. Please take whatever precautions you can to protect your home and family. Alarms seem to be a deterrent as do deadbolt security / storm doors. There is a security door (Larson) available that does not have steel bars, so check Lowe's when you have a chance.
We will be discussing the formation of an organized neighborhood watch on Brewer Drive at an upcoming WBNA meeting in the Fall.
