Speaking of trash...
Speaking of trash, this morning some trash dumped their garbage in the common area in front of my home. While I picked up in the rain, I wondered if they were the same trash that dumped their garbage Saturday in the common area near the corner of Woodlands and Windypine.

the problem
I don't know if I agree completely with RP as I think 200k homeowners should take more responsiblity for the whole neighborhood and not just their landspace. Even though some of the homes may be 200k +, a subdivision with trash, cars parked on the common areas and with what appears to be a disinterested Board, can easily have lower middle class look/feel. I don't think the vast majority of the homeowners take a lot of pride in the neighborhood...I think the vast majority of the homeowners want to improve the look and feel of the subdivison.

hmmm...
Those last 2 statements confused me...aren't wanting to improve the look and feel of the sub, and taking pride in the neighborhood the same thing?
My statement was merely that this is a lovely place to live for the most part, with problems that NEED TO BE ADDRESSED, that definitely are a detriment to the Woodlands. I agree that the board seems disinterested. The landscape committee does a great job; we see the flowers and grass cut. If some of the issues were dealt with, that would be just as visible.
How's this:

oops...here's my wish list
oops, sorry! I'd like to put forth my list of peeves, and please give me feedback:
1. Garbage cans belong in your garage or house until garbage day. Put them up after it's picked up. If your neighbor is out of town, be nice, pick it up and set it by their garage door for them. Get it out of the road.
2. Park your car in your garage or driveway. Every home has a 2 car garage. That plus 2 in the driveway, you have room for 4. If you have more than 4 cars every night, run a shuttle or something. Those of you who park on the street because you're just plain lazy, shame on you. Park in your driveway.
3. Put your dog on a leash. Always. If it gets loose and poops in my yard, well, that's just not nice. And please keep your kitty off my car.
4. Keep your car stereo down. Especially at night.
5. Those of you with car alarms, sorry. Yours goes off so often accidentally that if someone actually broke into it I would ignore it.
6. If you see trash, PICK IT UP. After the trash runs there's always some scraps. If it's near your house, it's probably yours; even if it's not, pick it up.
Those are my hot spots. Am I preaching to the choir? Is anyone reading this besides those of us looking for some help with these (and other) issues?
