Neighborhood Yards

Posted in: Hickory Hills
I was wondering why the house at the front of our community has a yard that has not been mowed in months. It looks really bad for our visitors or anyone trying to sell a home in the area. Is there something in the homeowners guide where we can mow it if a yard gets out of hand?

If this person cannot mow it themselves, please let the neighborhood know and maybe something can be arranged to help out for a while.
Agreed

Yes its an eye-sore. The old owners kept the lawn nice and had it all lit up at night. It looked great when you came into our neighborhood. The board needs to get on these folks. And I also notice SEVERE mold on some houses. I had a friend look at a house in our neighborhood this weekend. He wasnt to impressed. If I was selling my house I would be very angry. We all get busy in our everyday lives...but if your bringing our neighborhood down...shape up or sell to someone who will take care of it.

I Agree, too

I believe many of our neighbors are really letting their houses go, especially the first home as you enter the neighborhood. I thought the HOA was empowered to force members to cut their yards...or if they wouldn't, the HOA would get a professional to cut it and bill the homeowner. Furthermore, what about boats, inoperable cars, and 4-5 cars in the driveways? This looks TRASHY!

I'm sure all of us have busy schedules and tight budgets, but the way some homes in our neighborhood look is simply inexcusable. Are they rentals? Do the homeowners just not care? Either way, the HOA needs to take action. I hope our potential HOA members will address this at the clubhouse during the election.
Yards

Thank you for the complaint of the yard. It has now been mowed, however crappy as it still looks! It could use a little weed-eating as well. I have always been proud to live here but the neighborhood tends to be going down. I live on Georgetown and there is a house on the corner that continually has large appliances under the deck very visible to the road the were in the yard. I think he was asked to remove them and now has placed them UNDER the deck. If anyone can help with this issue I would greatly appreciate It.
