48th & Nevada
This is one of the areas we are going to propose a 4 way stop.
Due to the children walking along 48th to the Richland Park library, we feel this has a really good chance of being resolved.
Thanks for the suggestion!

51st and Elkins
This is the main street we are proposing increased safety in the way of additional stop signs, as well as the washboard-type speed bumps at the foot of the hill.
We discovered that the state will be building an exit ramp off of the interstate onto 51st - the other side of Charlotte - which could, at that point, increase the traffic even more. We are keeping a close eye on this.
Thanks for the info!

Citizen Radar Guns
What a great idea! This is a new one on me. We will have to look into this to see about the availability in this area. We will keep you posted.
Thanks,

48th & Wyoming
Though I can empathize with the concerns of excess speed on 48 & Nevada. I strongly believe that 48th & Wyoming deserve more attention (4 Way Stop) for several reasons. Primarily this is the closest thoroughfare with a cross street to the elementary school. Secondly, the dip in fornt of Syvan Park Freewill Baptist church is so steep that cars often look like "Starky & Hutch"as they hit it. I have personally witnessed cars almost becoming air born as they fly over the hump. My property is just west of the hump and needless to say we park the nicer car in the driveway. I fear that it is just a matter of time before someone is hurt or killed on Wyoming. For now my only recourse is to yell at the speeders and train my Golden Retriever to stay out of the street. Now if only the cats she loves to chase would learn.
Please feel free to e-mail me with comments.
Sincerely
