You don't

What basis to you use to assume that the 98% is either ''happy'' or ''don't care''. I know quite a few people that are displeased but do not verbalize it to the Board for whatever reason. Some are quiet because their children are friends with Board children, and do not want their child treated poorly by one or two Board members who cannot control their emotions? Some are quiet because they do not want to be abused by the likes of you as you have done with your mocking of Barns (sic).

The vocal minority of Board supporters are much more vicious and mean-spirited than Barns (sic) is in his criticisms of the Board.

If your figure of 2% are not happy, then only 0.2% are happy by showing Board support at meetings, see my previous posting. That's a 10-fold difference in the two with a value of p<0.0001. That means according to my calculations that 97.8% fall in your ''Don't Care'' category. I doubt that.

You can't please all of the people all of the time, but neither can you fool all of the people all of the time with your hyper-inflated claims of support.

Statistical Axiom

Dearest Unanimus,

I'm writing to you today to inquire as to the statistical method you used to come up with your 90% ''actual fact'' of Board Support.

When responding, please keep in mind the simple axiom ''Figures do not lie, but liars figure''. I have a feeling that your data is rooted in the second half of that axiom.

You cannot keep all of the people happy all of the time, but they sure do like to laugh at those whose pants are on fire.

Pride is a Sin

Pride is one of the seven deadly sins. For the Board to reverse course now after all this hullabaloo, then the Board would misconstrue it as a loss of face, rather than as doing the right thing.

Their Pride will never let them do that.
Adequate

Nice jump from 67% not being happy to 98% being either happy or don't care. Your assumption is that if someone doesn't visit this site and speak up then they fit into the happy or don't care category. That's a pretty big leap. Those rose colored classes must fit pretty good.

Just for the record, I asked my neighbor if she had seen the discussions out on the website about the newsletter. Her answer was no, but she hoped they improved it as all it is anymore is a bunch of advertisements. That was before I told her about the content of these threads. Sorta shoots your assumption about people not caring down don't you think? One doesn't have to speak up to care.

As for the Board. My vote is that they are doing an adequate job. However, if they really wish to improve they would listen to critism and reverse unpopular decisions. All we get right now are attempts to ignore and bury the issues or inadequate answers to questions posed.
