Interesting Question
Who is going to be responsible when one of these scooters run over and kill a dog or a cat?
You will have an illegal scooter killing a dog and/or cat that is running around the neighborhood illegally off of it's chain/leash. Will the two guilty families accept it and learn their lesson? Do two illegal (negative) actions make a legal (positive) action?

Scooters at night - common sense
My semi-gripe (aside from the other valid items already posted): Scooters being driven at night (8:00 and later). Some of these scooters are MUCH louder than automobiles. I have a 1yr old child, who does sleep at night (sometimes; sometimes not, but that's another story). Parents, please think about this as your kid is blasting around on these scooters. Annoying as all he** to have an infant woken up by these scooters. Thanks!

Poor scooters
I've actually begun seeing kids with helmets on! As I'm out for my walks, I'm being passed (slowly) by kids on scooters whose scooter is barely getting them up the hill. The sound that these laboring things are making is hilarious. Either the kids are too big for the things or they are terribly underpowered for a W.S. hill. The fact that a child on a bicycle could beat them up the hill on their scooter should be enough to send them back to pedal power.

Times Past
What ever happened to the days of children getting a day of physical activity? Now we give them PlayStation, and the equivalent of a motorized skateboard/Scooter. I do embrace the computer age and its games.....but think its ridiculous that bikes(pedal bikes) may be a thing of the past.
I hope the laws are strictly enforced on these motorized vehicles. Children do not need motorized means to get from Point A to Point B...they need exercise!! Moreover it's an accident waiting to happen.
