Yes, that's very true... But one question are you involved? Have you volunteered and offered your services for are HOA? You seem to be involved, but are you really???

At the last HOA mtg there were not enough property owners present to ceate a forum. Therefore our officers (self appointed last year) continue to hold their positions. We should have sent out snail mail notices to all property owners for an election of new officers. I've given my phone numbers to the board last year for involement here in LP. But have yet to be contacted for anything. We can either be part of the problem, or become part of the solution! There should be some sort of unity here. Where we used to live our HOA dues were $15.00 a year. Our HOA officers went throughout the neighborhood and interracted with the residents (property owners and renters). We had a newsletter hand delivered to all the residents every month. We were all involved in the community. Our HOA meetings were attended by 30% of the residents. Our Police officers in the area made frequent visits to our meetings and social gatherings. Sure we had crime, what neighborhood doesn't. Here in LP we could have more participation by our residents. We could create committees to take care of yards that need cutting, instead of relying on Code Compliance. If we could only learn to help our neighbors more, we could have unity. I don't like to complain, it doesn't solve anything. It just makes matters worse. Thank you for your time and input. Please get your neighbors involved in LP so we may move forward in a more positive way. |

Update: if e.g. reads this on a regular schedual he/she will find this updat information helpful. After sending the last response, I discussed this information with 8 other neighbors. They too were at the HOA meeting where Mr. Garcia asked for phone numbers of the residents who would like to get involved with various committees of just help in any way they could. Well my neighbors, you guessed it. They have yet to be contacted as well. After doing some research, I've found out that the lawyer our dues are paying for should be working for us, the resident property owners, and not the management company. Also our Board of Directors should first dicuss matters with all the property owners before spending our hoa dues on things like signs and plants. The monies in our treasury should be spent on the things that matter most in LP. It would not be too difficult to write a newsletter each month and hand deliver it to all the homes in LP. If ink and paper are the problem, well, we could purchas them with the monies collected from our dues. We should also have a general membership meeting at least every 90 days (with or wuthout a quorum). These meetings are to keep the residents informed in LP. We can also use these meetings to find ways to include the children in their neighborhood as well. The more we work with each other the sooner we become united. Devided we fail. United we overcome. Bless everyone who reads this. |
