Satelites & Fish

I remember the Satelites at Gyro's. Weren't they like chicken fried steak burgers? I remember they were huge.

I loved the fish. When you ordered to go, the food came in pretty big sized boxes. When my father got paid on Fridays, he would buy fish from Gyro's. I remember smelling coffee perculating while we waited anxiously for my father to come home with fish. I loved those Fridays.
Grocery Store on Thompson

I remember there was a small grocery store on Thompson St. I don't remember what the name was. I can't even remember where exactly it was. All I know it was on a corner. I used to buy Hippo Rootbeer sodas there. Remember the Hippo sodas? Eventually, someone converted the store to a house. Does anyone remember the store?
''Yes, we remember too.''

ITS FUNNY! A FEW YEARS BACK, MY HUSBAND WANTING A QUICK SODA, BEFORE THAT HOUSE HAD A FENCE, WALKED INTO THE FRONT DOOR OF THE STORE,(THINKING IT WAS A STORE)AND FOUND A MAN SLEEPING ON THE FRONT COUCH!! THE LADY OF THE HOUSE TOLD HIM TO GET OUT!! HE SAID ''OH IT'S NOT A STORE ANYMORE!!'' BUT YES WE REMEMBER THAT ONE TOO.
DO YOU REMEMBER MR.BRYANTS STORE ON THE CORNER TAFT AND CHARLOTTE. MR. BRYANT LET US HAVE THE PEPSI BOTTLE CAPS SO WE COULD GET IN AT THE TEXAS THEATRE TO SEE ''HERCULES UNCHAINED'' WE CONSIDERED OURSELVES REALLY LUCKY, BECAUSE WE NEEDED SIX BOTTLE CAPS EACH TO GET IN. AFTER THAT IT BECAME MR.LIMON STORE AND THEN MR. AND MRS. SALINAS HAD THE MEAT MARKET.
