landscape service
We don't think much of the landscape service. When they come weekly, they only mow and weedeat. Meantime the plants need attention. Our beds are being taken over by lantana, and I'm not crazy about those plants. They got to where they were halfway across our entry walk when I got out and started chopping them back. Shouldn't have to do that when we're paying so much and my shoulder and my husband's back prevent us from most garden work. One plant next to our drive is dying. I saw that its mulch was about washed away and roots were exposed, so again I tried to rectify. Can't see how they justify our cost. Any options? By Karla |

Park West Landscape Committee?
I have always thought that our grass should be greener. There are too many brown areas in all our lawns. Our neighbor Jack, (greenbelt/phase 2) feeds his front yard every month, and it always looks fully green and fantastic. Isn't there a Park West Landscape Committee that was put together last spring? A small to medium size landscape company would treat us (with our $80,000 a year contract - soon to be $160,000.00) like gold. The key is for us to put together a complete list of services, including monthly feeding (put together by our Park West Landscape Committee) and contact as many reputable landscape companies as possible for bids. Does anyone know who is on the Park West Landscape Committee? Sal |

Landscape Services
The landscaping services are minimal at best. I also pay them to have my back yard serviced, too. They crews have been here every week, so I am not unhappy with the frequency. I would like to know when the yard gets fertilizer, though. I have to weed the front beds myself because the stickers grow up so fast. The mulch is almost gone and so the grass is starting to creep in. I suggest that they consult with the City of Austin Water Conservation department about proper irrigation techniques. I had the city come out and audit my sprinkler system. They found a number of problems and they set me up for a 5 day watering schedule. The landscape company still suggests watering three days a week. I don't know what other companies would charge for similar serivces so it is difficult to assess the services. I thought that is what the landscape committee would do for us. Will By William Quinn |
