Another Time Warner INCREASE!

Posted in: Park W at Circle C
I just found out Time Warner Cable is going to increase its rates by another 4-5 dollars on January 1st!

I'm now looking into satellite. Between the monthly box fee, taxes, increase and HBO if you want it...it takes their 40 something dollar cost is just about $80.00! It's only TV. They don't have to come to my house and dance for me everynight. Time Warners GREED is pushing me to satellite.

If you have a satellite please tell me on average how many times a month or year you have problems with reception (because of rain or clouds). Also, what brand do you use.

Thanks Neighbors!

We get our satellite thru DirecTV and
have enjoyed it for 3-4 years. We are going to add local channels, which up to now we have had thru TimeWarner. We
also have RoadRunner, and I'm looking
forward to the day when we can have one
provider for TV and highspeed internet.
You can select packages with Direct for
anywhere between $32-$89. We pay about
$60, this is for a great basic service
including lots of good ad-free music
and more channels than anyone could need (plus a couple extra we like:
Sundance and IFC). We have had very
few outages due to weather here--I'd
say 2hours over a year and 1/2. At our
last home it was worse, but I see you
can purchase special weather covers
(don't know how well they work). Some
packages require you buy the equipment
and pay for installation, on others
you lease. Will probably cost $100-200
to get started. There are others (Dish)
--check them all out. Good luck.

Good-bye GREEDY Time Warner!

So Time Warner gives a 10% increase on January 1st...in a DOWN economy! That is the 3rd or 4th increase in 2 years!

I am signing up with Dish Network for for 50 channels (plus local) and I get a TIVO like unit that records 80 hours of TV...all for for $40.98 monthly (after tax). At a lease so I dont have to pay for any issues with equiptment.
Now that sounds fair to me. I figure I save about $25.00 a month and I get a TIVO to boot. Thats a $300.00 a year savings that can go to our new energy efficient washing machine.

I'm done with greedy Time Warner - the day after xmas.
