We had the annual meeting tonight and most of the agenda was pretty much as expected.
They re-elected the same old BOD, of course, and only 4 or 5 people out of the 47 in attendance bothered to vote. It's rigged - your vote means absolutely nothing - the builders still have a strangle hold on the HOA.
The good news is that they are ready to back out and start the transition to full homeowner control - oh, except that they want the same president (correct me if I'm wrong - I don't know all the board members). It's frustrating to go to a meeting where you know you can't have any effect on the outcome, but THANK YOU all for coming anyway !!
The budget made me dizzy. It looks like they over spent a bit here and there, and the explainations for spending were vague.
Oh, guess what!! They appologized, again this year, for that unfortuante lack of communication. It was comical - Bobby annouces that all the BOD meetings were open and minutes were distributed - oh, wait, a rumble from the audience .... ah, EXCUSE ME - nobody ever got any copies of any committee or BOD minutes.....err, that's right. I thought everyone got them. Opps, we blew it again this year . So SORRY. We will take care of that...
Oh yes, all the BOD meetins are open. Good luck finding one, because they have never been announced or posted, as required by the By-Laws. Sound familiar ? Is this a page out fo the CCHOA BOD handbook - how to hoodwink those silly Bomb-throwers ??

But, there is news in the neighborhood. Hammonds, you know those nice builders that promised to install those missing sidewalks last year (and before) .... they sold out and left us.
Yes, take another look! Hammonds sold off all their lots to Wilshire and they are GONE !!!
Oh, the BOD said that Hammonds Homes left us $2000 to figure out what to do about the missing sidewalks on our own !!
Hammonds Homes are gone !
OK, they got a few houses to sell off and another model home. But, those rats have scurried off.
Oh, there were some committee sign up sheets, too. And our darling Goodwin Management company rep was there, too. Good luck trying to find her new phone number and email address - if you have it, please post it here.
The Landscape committee got part of it's report read into the record - at least I THINK there is a record. It will be interesting to see if they keep notes on these meetings.
But, back to the new HOA !!
We need some board members now. They will be elected and serve a as non-voting members, for a certain term, so that they can get familiar with the processes.
But, there is no Nomination committee or process in our By-Laws ??? So, I guess all nominations have to come from the floor, because those proxie votes won't work without a candidate !? WHo's bright idea was that ?>
Does anyone even have a copy of the By-Laws for Park West HOA ???
