There has been a water leak at Lake Front and Lake Plains for over a year now. Shouldn't the LNA be pestering SAWS or the city to permanently fix this? Now there is a big pothole developing due to the standing water.
Seems like this should be an item of interest for the LNA to me. Do something about this.

First of all due to all of the rain we have been having, it was overlooked. Guess my question to you is you seem to be adepth at e-mail, you know SAWs handles water concerns, I am sure you have a telephone sooo WHY DID YOU NOT CALL TO TAKE CARE OF THE PROBLEM IF YOU ARE AWARE OF IT. The LNA is certainly not the caregiver to all of the over 1100 homes here at Lakeside. We all as neighbors need to help not just say let the LNA do it. Lastly, are you a member of the LNA? If not, join, support your neighborhood positively.

Yes, it is annoying to see something like this in our neighborhood, just like the junk vehicles, trash on Sinclair, run down yards, etc. Unfortunately, there are not enough active members in the neighborhood to handle everything, so sometimes it is just best to get on the phone yourself and handle it. As they say, The Squeeky Wheel Gets the Grease.

Anonymous, My delayed response. The LNA is not a city coordination department. The board members are parents, employees, employers, students, children of elderly parents, house keepers, yard workers, people with interest outside the community. Those of us who take on the responsiblity of representing the members do not have any more power as - you, Anonymous, does in making a phone call. Any citizen in the city of San Antonio has the right to dial 311.

The difference the neighborhood association can make is when after a report has been made and after monitoring the response and no action is taken. This is where ''strenght in numbers'' comes into account. Official contacts have a tendancy to acknowledge a number of voters oppose to one lone complainer. The more members in the association the more leverage the residents have.
