I was wondering if anyone out there could verify the reason why speed bumps cannot be placed in the neighborhood? I live on Senisa Springs about 150 meters from the STOP sign with Arcadia Creek. The traffic in that short distance is often in excessive of 40 mph. I have spent the last 14+ yrs in law enforcement and can estimate speeds fairly accurately. It is outrageous. One time I yelled, ''The speed limit is 30,'' which prompted the driver to turn around and threaten me and was extremely verbally abusive. Yes, I called SAPD, but they told me there was little they could do other than take the report. Just last night, I had someone pound on my door wanting to know who was driving my daughter's car. He has seen one like it speeding through the neighborhood and was trying to find the driver. Fortunately, my daughter's car hadn't moved in 2 days because of a dead battery. About 1030, I was walking my dog when I saw a car matching the same description blowing through the STOP sign and on down Senisa Springs. I walked part way in the road, the car stopped, then proceeded to tell me to chill out before telling my to perform certain acts on parts of his anatomy. Fortunately, a security vehicle saw this, talked to me, and called SAPD. These could easily be daily occurrences, but I have neither the time or the energy. There have already been people hit on Senisa Springs. Lack of action on our part exposes the Association to law suits. Let's be proactive versus reactive. If you want, one could be put right in front of my house, to which my neighbor across the street is in complete concurrence.
It will be sad if I have to post a sign in my front yard that says:
Indianapolis
Daytona
Darlington
Senisa Springs
GREAT AMERICAN SPEEDWAYS!!!
Feel free to contact me direct if you don't want to post replies on this site.
