WHAT IS HAPPENING TO CREEKSIDE

Posted in: San Antonio Creekside
I DEFINITELY THINK THAT WE CANNOT LET SOMEONE ELSES ACTIONS OR LAZY PARENTS WHO DON'T KEEP TRACK OF THEIR KIDS DICTATE OUR PLANS. WHEN MY WIFE AND I BOUGHT OUR HOUSE HERE, WE WERE TOLD THAT THE REC CENTER AND CLUB HOUSE WERE SOMETHING THAT WE WOULD HAVE. IT WAS A DONE DEAL. WE WERE TOLD THAT OUR ASSOCIATION FEES WOULD BE GOING TOWARD THAT CONSTRUCTION, MAINTENCE AS WELL AS PROVIDING SECURITY. THIS OCTOBER WILL BE 5 YEARS THAT WE HAVE LIVED HERE. 5 YEARS. 5 X $200 = $1,000. TIMES HOW MANY FAMILIES LIVE HERE NOW ? APPROX 1000...AND WHAT DO WE HAVE ? I AM ASHAMED OF MY NEIGHBORHOOD. THIS MANAGEMENT COMPANY THAT THE BOARD HIRED TO MAINTAIN DAILY OPERATIONS FOR THE SUBDIVISION HAS DONE WHAT ? WE STILL HAVE SPEEDERS , VANDLISM, HOMEOWNERS THAT LET THEIR YARDS LOOK LIKE TRASH, PEOPLE LEAVING ALL KINDS OF STUFF IN FRONT OF THEIR HOUSES , LIKE TRASH CANS, TRAILERS, JUNKED CARS, BOATS, AND MY FAVORITE, COMMON AREAS THAT HAVE WEEDS AT LEAST 4 TO 5 FEET HIGH. IF WE WANT THIS NEIGHBORHOOD TO CONTINUE TO DETIORIATE, WE CAN JUST CONTINUE TO DO NOTHING, BUT, IF WE WANT TO MAKE THIS A GREAT PLACE TO LIVE, WE NEED TO BE MORE PROACTIVE, WE NEED TO GET THIS MANAGEMENT GROUP TO GET AFTER IT, AND ABOVE ALL, WE HAVE TO NOT BE AFRAID TO DEAL WITH HOMEOWNERS WHO DO NOT COMPLY WITH THE RULES. THIS ISN'T A KB NEIGHBORHOOD ANYLONGER, IT IS OUR NEIGHBORHOOD.
Neighborhood going to pot

I agree. I would be ashamed to have friends and co-workers come over to my home and see the trashy and overgrown backyards around us. With all the money coming in to this association why can't the management (I'm not talking about our volunteer board members - but Pro-Comm)do more to ensure a nice neighborhood. If someone won't maintain their yards ticket them with littering or creating a public nuisance. Those weed seeds will make it into someone else's yard. My spouse and I both work full time jobs but still find the time to keep our yards looking very nice and tidy. What's wrong with the rest. Laziness I would guess. My challenge to Pro-Comm is for them to take a stroll along the greenbelt between Criswell Creek and Lauren Mist. They will see some nasty looking backyards and one yard with a poor, ignored golden retriever.
checking the web

I agree with the vast majority of the comments made on our neighborhood web site and I make a point of checking it routinely. The question is, does Pro-Comm or others in a position of authority read this section of the web site? If not, then we should probably start sending them e-mails, regular mail, or call them on issues such as the ones discussed here. I always leave my name and email address and have yet to received a response on any of my comments and/or concerns.

I appreciate the efforts of our volunteer board members and would like to point out that my comments here are not directed at them. Anyone who volunteers their time and efforts has my support and thanks.

As for the poor dog mentioned in the posting of ''neighborhood going to pot''. It may be in the animals best interest if you called animal control or the humane society and have that issue dealt with as quickly as possible. I have called animal control on several occasion to attempt to deal with stray animals and they are some what responsive.

Last summer I called animal control and the Humane Society and was told there was nothing they could do. They did not have enough resources to investigate complaints of possible abuse. This poor dog is outside day and night and during last summers heat I know for a fact that poor dog had no water. We took a small bucket of water and put it over the fence hoping the dog would at least check it out and get a drink. They made a big crate out of plywood and stuck it in the corner of their yard up against their neighbors house. I guess they figured this was enough shelter for the dog. I'll be at the next meeting on the 12th and will bring this to ProComms attention.
