A suggestion made at the last WHA meeting was to relocate from the church to the elementary school. I would like some opinions expressed as to whether a relocation would be an encouragement to others to attend our meetings. Any suggestions to increase attendance at our meetings is appreciated.Does it make any difference where the meetings are held or is it the apathy of the residents who don't want to get off their duffs and be involved?

I prefer meeting at the church
I prefer meeting at the church because they welcome us with open arms. If we start having a problem where people are having to stand up during the meetings then I think we should move to a bigger location. My experience in working with the Principal of Woodlake Elementary is that she can be uncooperative at times. She does not live in the Woodlake community so she doesn't seem to take an interest in what is happening in the neighborhood. I think if people are not coming to the meeting because they are in a church building then they have a bigger problem than what we can help them with. I hope this helps your survey.

I prefer the church
I seem to remember when we did meet at the school we had a strict time limit. The church seems to be much more accommodating.

Separation of Church and State
Where we hold the WHA general meetings does make a difference. My letter will probably offend some of the members of Woodlake Baptist. Sorry! My intention is to suggest that its wrong for us to associate the homeowners association with any religious facility. Its possible that we may be missing out on membership and activity because of it. Membership and activity is the very objective of the association. I feel we should move back to the elementary school. Hopefully a few new faces will show up now and then. God knows, the WHA sure could use it.
