I have heard the suggestion made that we might want to post the license numbers of those who speed through our neighborhood streets for all to see and identify the offenders. Because of the nature of our neighborhood and it's association, this would be a very bad idea, indeed. Due to our gated community, our streets are considered private property, and as homeowners, we each share the liability for those same streets. The same is true of our Homeowner's Association: As homeowners, we bear the liability for their actions/inactions. To publish license plates of said offenders would be a public written accusation and could bring legal action against the HOA (and thereby against each of us) on grounds of public embarrassment, and/or libel. Definitely NOT something we want to do...
