River Trails Vandalism
I understand the names have been removed, and probably should be until the little vermin are caught. When they are, I want to know who they are so I can send their parents a bill. Over the last 4 weeks my home has been hit 4 times by these little punks and I am tired of it. A message has to be sent since its obvious the police can't/won't take notice.
I personally went to the NPD4 office 2 times to report the vandalism to my home and both times I was told they have had no other reports of vandalism in this area...only me. I found it hard to believe then and since the news report I find it even harder to believe. The police assured me that it was only ''kids being kids'' and they will stop once school starts again. Although this may be true, parents should have a better knowledge of what their children are doing after dark, and take responsibility for them.
ALSO, the sergeant admitted to me that unless they receive a call to dispatch a patrol car out this way, they dont make a habit of routine patrols of our neighborhood. I found that statement totally illogical and frightening.
We all need to make a point of reporting ANY AND ALL acts of vandalism to the police, no matter how minor it may seem. As I told the Sergeant on duty, the little heathens were getting very bold and sooner or later someone was going to get hurt as a result. Well, now someone HAS gotten hurt.
I would be a shame to see a child get shot by an irate homeowner who is trying to protect his property because some kids thought they were haveing ''fun''.
