Playground survey
Michael,
Welcome to the boards!
I'm hosting the survey on my website and helped write an early draft. You are not the first person to bring up the point that there isn't room to say we don't want a playground. The short answer, one that Greg already mentioned and one that was briefly discussed at the annual meeting, is that the survey was written by the playground committtee to help them guage what kind of playground the people who do want a playground would want. The survey was designed to collect that specific information so the playground committee could develop a plan on which people could then vote yes or no. God knows that hasn't stopped anyone from using the survey to voice their opposition to a playground. All those responses were received and every single one of them was read.
I believe the Wednesday meeting is designed to help some of the opponents and supporters find some middle ground. To help them come to some agreements that might help make a playground acceptable to the most people possible. Some people find the whole idea of a playground totally unacceptable and there's nothing anyone can say or do to change their minds, that's fine. They, however, might not find this meeting very productive.
There will be a final proposal that everyone will get to vote on. That vote will decide the playground issue one way or the other.
