To all members of the WOPOA. I recently contracted (verbally) with Mr. Carlos R. Ortiz for to clear my property on lot 303 on Burr Oak Lane. Mr. Ortiz spent two days with a backhoe pulling stumps and knocking down trees. He was supposed to pull all stumps and burn the debris. I paid him two thirds of the money on the second day of clearing and I have not heard hide of hare of him since. I have called his house everyday, day and night includings weekends, only to be avoided. Mr. Ortiz is sadly mistaken if he thinks he can rip-off people and get away with it. I don't know his current address but here's what I do know: Mr. Ortiz lives somewhere in Floresville (not listed in the phone book) and is a member of the Floresville ISD school board. He has a brother-in-law who lives in Whispering Oaks and he built a house on Fallen Leaf and at the corner of Meadow Glen and Black Jack Trail (Homer). If anyone knows Mr. Ortiz's address or knows him personaly, I would like very much to contact him. If not, I have no alternative but to persue legal action. If you know this individual, I would suggest you are really careful with any business dealings with him and make sure you have a contract. Pass on this information to all perpective home builders in our area. Thanks

Ripoff Update

Mr. Centennial, we are taking Mr. Ortiz to small claims court on May 15th. I will let you know the outcome. I'm sure I won't see my money again but I want to make sure no one else gets taken for a ride. I know he is doing some work out there somewhere and I'm determined to stop him. I also know he has relatives in our neighborhood so I want them to know I am spreading the word about Mr. Ortiz and it's not a good one. After the court proceedings, I would like to do an article for the Whispering Oaks paper. I'll keep you updated.
