Towne Lake Garden Association

Harassment

Posted in: Towne Lake Garden
Recieved one too.

Hoo Boy. I got one too for not mowing my grass and keeping it edged.
I set my lawn cutting setting higher than most lawns in the subdivision.
Because of this the lawn grows slower and if I cut it more than 8 times a year its too much. Trust me folks you lawn scalpers should follow my lead since it also saves on lawn watering.
Well make a long story short, I went out and edged (it took all 5 minutes) voila it looks as nice as my neighbor who has it professionally done every week.
Apparently someone lit a fire on the management co. and they decided to do their ''job''.
It really sucks when someone show up once every 4 or 5 months does not notice the real violaters of our neighborhood.

the gall of some

I was amazed to learn that this is such a chronic problem. especially when you consider how negligent the association has been about the street problem. All that crushed and pulverized rock with all that silica and other particulants that everyone was forced to inhale. With all that liabilty looming overhead for the association, from the potential law suits from parents whose kids might develope any number of lung problems, one would think they would want to keep a low profile or at the very least not make up reasons to send out harassing letters.

Harassment is the correct Word

Kathyrn makes a significant point. We too received a nastygram for non-compliance with Section 6-10 (garbage and disposal). These notices do not instill neighborhood pride and a sense of community. In fact, quite the opposite as most residents find them offensive and unacceptable. We have been residents for 15 years and my wife keeps our home like a show case inside and out. Our ''garbage'' as the inspector/note taker wrote was actually items removed from our garage and placed neatly beside our house (covered) so as we could complete a home improvement project. This took about four days. Instead of being complimented for our efforts receive a non compliance letter. Unnecessary and discouraging. Our young neighbors just finished a major home makeover. Instead of being complimented, they received a notice about dandelions in their flower garden. We are losing our sense of community in Towne Lake. This is not good. It is good that the Association is starting a ''best yard'' program again. We should be encouraging our neighbors through positive reinforcement. We may need to get creative along the way, but it can be done. We want our real Towne Lake back. Best to all, Jim
