I agree. A trail of any sort in a flood area is truely a bad idea. Someone didnt do their research of the area when they gave the go ahead.

Instead of spending on a trail, how about finishing Wurzbach Parkway (or should I say start it). The "Proposed" road signs that have existed since I was a kid...still exist. Everyone has seen the signs on Jackson Keller by Blossom Athletic Center and on West Avenue and beyond. I dont believe that will ever get done. Maybe the bike trail will get me where I need to go (sarcasm)!

At least the neighborhood kids will have something to do for awhile, and I hear it will be patrolled thereby cutting down on those 4wheeling ruckus makers. On the other hand, the county will probably use it to raise our property taxes, and I just hope they have rubbish bins here and there to keep litter bugs from throwing their garbage into people's backyards. I'm sure the city has anticipated flooding, unless they have been abusing the Cable again. We'll all know for sure after the next flood. Maybe they'll use the bump in property taxes for the upkeep.

If you would like to see what this trail will look like, go to Tobin Park on Loop 410 (across the freeway from Los Patios) take a walk down the almost 6 miles of trail. This park, trail and wildlife preserve is beautiful and also in the flood plain. The low water crossing are cleaned each time we get rain and patroled  by the Park Police. I am very happy the city is extending it north past our subdivision. It will be an asset for all of us.
