Egyptian Geese on the lake

Today I noticed five newcomers to our lake -- Egyptian geese! Does anyone know if they came in on their own, or were raised and released here?

 

They're very beautiful, and I'm happy to see new geese. I have one wory, though. Egyptians are known to be the most aggressive and quarrelsome of all geese. They tend to fight among themselves and with other birds, and also search out and destroy any other bird's eggs that they find.

 

This morning, I watched them go after our small flock of black-bellied whistling ducks and drive them off. I hope this isn't a sign of things to come...

BTW, Egyptians are bred only as ornamental birds, not for food or eggs. And because of their aggressive nature, they aren't even bred as ornamental birds very often.
