Our Dog Got Off the Leash!!!

Posted in: Towne Lake Garden

We want to thank the neighbors who tried to help us catch our dog as it ran away this morning. Unfortunately, it scared a lot of ducks and the dog would not listen to our commands. Although it chased a lot of ducks, it did not kill the duck on someone's yard, but was interested in it. We have decided to get rid of the dog and give it to some people who want it. Again, we are sorry for any inconvenice the dog caused & for disturbing you all so early in the morning.

You are very welcome.  I am the woman who stopped.  The gentleman in the mini-van who stopped initially did most of the work in trying to catch the dog and prevent further injury to the duck(s).  I regret I did not get his name because he deserves the kudos and accolades.

This is what neighbors are supposed to do: help each other.  Lastly, think for a few days before getting rid of the dog.  The dog was doing what many dogs do and the ducks were doing what ducks do.  Perhaps a harnass rather than a collar would work better because they are harder for the dog to slip out of.

Alls well that ends well and except for a few ruffled feathers, I don't think any lasting harm was done.

Thank you for such a gracious and courteous reply. We will try a harness.... Thanks for the advice.
