Have you been experiencing difficulty opening your mailbox or their seems to be an obstruction in the key slot?  For the past two weeks we been having this kind of problem with our lock to the mailbox, eventually it did not let the key in at all.

We went to the post office put, pulled our accumulated mail, and requested a new lock.($25.00)  Wednesday the lock was installed, Thursday it worked great, Friday afternoon it has the same trouble as before. 

I can only assume:

 1. cosmic coincidence  or

2. someone is trying to break into the mail...(I only have bills)

Fortunately there is a fellow 2 houses down who has his place wired for video survellance and I'm going to ask if he (peace officer) has seen anything suspicous.

I betting it's on tape....

Couldn't the P.O. tell you how it was tampered with? If someone is jamming it with a tooth pick while checking their mail, it would be pretty hard to catch them unless you check it every time someone checks their mail.

In any case, good luck, I hope you catch them.

I had the same problem a couple of weeks ago.  Turns out the post office over on Danbury changed my lock by mistake.  Received two free keys to the new lock and an appology from Mike, the supervisor. 

hahahaha Maybe they were supposed to change Webbys but changed yours then somehow his got changed again...

You should be able to see in the lock to see if something has been put in it.
