Yes there are plenty of fish in the lake.  Have seen  3-4 lb Bass caught, plenty of perch, some huge carp (15lb.+). However the last I heard, we weren't supposed to fish here. Have yet to hear a reasonable explaination of that.  HOA covenents even have a provision for building a fishing dock with ACC approval.  Maybe a vote on this should be brought to the next HOA meetiong.

I've lived in Towne Lake since 1999 and the issue of fishing in the lake seems to be on-going.  When I first moved here, people did fish; however, there was a huge problem with fishing line, hooks, lead weights being left all over the place and the ducks being harmed.  It was not unusual to see ducks impailed with hooks or with fishing lines wrapped around their necks, feet and wings.  It was for this reason fishing was discouraged and, I agree with a fishing ban.

It's easy to point fingers at the BOD but the real issue rested in the failure of individual people fishing and failing to clean up their messes--not terribly unlike people who walk their dogs and let them potty in other people's front yards or in the common areas.

Yes, I am arguing personal responsibility (gasp!) here.
