The Adivosry Committe is just that, an advisory committee--there is no Board. The advisory committee members do not have the power to do anything, only to report to the property management company those things that are reported to us.

The posting was not an attack on the original poster, just a suggestion that he/she join the committee.

Where and how often do you meet?

I'll gladly join a board but don't know who to contact, when/where you meet.  I am a renter (been here for 2 years) so the homeowner (who lives out of state) gets the newsletters.  Renters live on both sides of me and none of us are ever notified about anything since owners get the notices.  As a renter I take better care of my yard and property than half the home owners here.  Sounds like there needs to be a crime watch committee in place for some of these issues.       

For a fact I can honestly say and prove that unless you are a total" yes-man" you are not wanted nor are you welcome on the Advisory Board. No criticism is allowed; no constructive criticism is allowed, you must nod yes at every suggestion of the Management Company and you may not offer advice or opinions or ideas not wanted by the Management company or you will be voted off the board as being divisive. I know I was.
