To the Board, thanks for being part of the Home Owners Association Board.  I know it can sometimes be a thankless job.  The entrances always look good and decorations at Christmas are great.

I do have a questions regarding our trash collection.  The prices have gotten so out of hand since ID was taken over by Republic.  It goes up every billing cycle and now is over $100.  I was wondering if you all knew of a way to get the price down.  When I moved in 2001 we did not have trash collection and we did not yet have a Board, so I took petitions around the neighborhood to get better pricing.  We did not have to sign a contract since we did not have Board of Directors, but I secured a good price for the homeowners who lived there at the time, but that is when it was Industrial Disposal.  The guy I worked with gave us a good price, but I don't believe he stayed with them when Republic bought them out.  I was wondering if we could get a better pricing if it was handled as a single billing account and was added to our HOA fees?
