Thursday (2 days after I tried talking with Wilshire and 1 day after letting Marylyn know about the problem) I saw that Wilshire was not removing the boulders against the trees...but ADDING MORE!
I contacted the city about Austins Tree protection. They were at the site this morning by 11:00 (Friday) and wrote up Wilshire for not taking proper care of the trees. The city inspector (Kristin) was shocked with how Wilshire piled boulders up against these trees. She also noticed a number of other violations and wrote them up for all of them including a lack of silt fence and taking a 4th large live oak down without a permit (the trunk/root was sticking out of the ground).
These 3 large trees are protected, taged, and registered in the city's plot plans for each lot.
Wilshire must remove the boulders with care, put up a chain fence around the drip line, add 3'' of mulch around trees, replace silt fence my Monday or they will get a construction shut down.
Also, just before closing the city comes back to inspect the trees. If they die, Wilshire will not be able to sell the house right away, and they also get fined.
I want to thank everyone who cared and called Wilshire and/or emailed me.
Take care and thanks again!
