It is not easy to find anyone who will repair TVs, monitors, audio, video or computers without charging an estimate fee. I got two monitors repaired and he seems like and honest guy. It isn't always the cheapest route, but instead of throwing another TV in the landfill, you might be able to ''recycle'' it.
If anyone want's his name/number, just drop me an e-mail.
FYI.

Because it is usually cheaper to ''just buy a new one,'' that's the way it goes. You could make a nice piece of ''art'' with your old monitors and computers.

Live and learn
1 year ago my 17'' CRT monitor died. After buying a new 17.5'' LCD a year ago for $900.00. The darn thing gets all flaked out on me...only a year old.
I wish I fixed that 6 year old CRT (pivotable) instead of tossing it.
What is that guys name Will? I want to put him on file.

Yeah, It cost me about $150 each to repair both 19'' monitors. I can get one from Sam's Club for $182 with a three year warranty, ($200 plus tax) BUT I feel I am keeping a display from the trash heap. I am recycling to help keep our environment clean! :)
Okay, give me a break!
Peter Neel guarantees his work so if you have a problem, he'll stand behind it. Both repairs I had him do were about $80 in parts and %65 in labor. *shrug* I am glad to get my Gateway Monitor back. It is really a good display. He'll give you a free estimate on the work. He is a really
nice guy, too!
