phase II gate
The homeowners planting the non-native magnolia did request permission from the PW board and were denied because magnolias are not on the approved PW native plant list, additional maintenance ($) is required from the landscape contractor, and since 1998, all other requests for non-native trees were denied. The homeowner, management company, and landscape company were emailed the decision. I was told the home owners stated they would remove the tree when other 'illegal' neighborhood plants were removed. Our board took no action and now the fence is up. Until homeowners contact Bobby Thomas, board president, with complaints, nothing will happen. Except other non-standard, property value lowering additions. Visualize a 'temporary' above ground pool in a front yard next summer for the grandchildren. Visualize a chain link dog run in a side yard. Visualize a home painted blue or pink. If you care, the board must hear from homeowners that we want reasonable standards, not the current 'anything is ok' board philosophy. Call your board or , next summer, you may have a 'temporary' above ground front yard pool next door.
