.....hang on
What we need to be doing, as a neighborhood, right now, is finding the best qualified members to serve as our HOA board of directors.
We will incure some heavy expenses in the first two years, to review our HOA, to update the by-laws, create a budget, and plan for the future.
Until then, we have to cross our fingers and hope that the developers have kept good records (though GB Goodwin, our property management company).
Considering the poor performance in the past two years, I'd suggest that we hire a new property management firm as our first order of busineness.
Second item should be an official Park West web site.
The roads are major issue and if we can't save enough to keep them in good working order, our choices include taking down the silly gates and then the city will do the maintenance. Of course, right now, the city hasn't got any money. I'll be we can find a compromise where we leave the gates open during work hours, and the city will agree to maintain the streets. Besides, there isn't much they will need for about 10 more years.
The nature trail, however, is a very high priority for me. I think we need to go build two trail heads into the park, one at the first Mail Center and the second one down in Phase II, where there is an easement with direct access. It just needs clearing and some crushed granite to make the trail safe to walk or ride on. Hike & Bike Trails are our biggest community asset. We need to keep them in good order.
Cheers
