At the last OHAN meeting, our newly elected Travis County District 3 constable, Richard McCain, announced that we have a new Travis County office complex that is just about to open up.
The location is immediately behind that new Fire and EMS station located on Hwy 71, opposite Covered Bridge. This is a site that Stratus Properties donated to the county just last year.
The new facilities will included much needed office space for the constable and his deputies, a local county court (JP court), meeting rooms that we can use, and a county tax office.
This is a big deal and a tremendous win for the Oak Hill community. Without it, you'd be driving downtown to visit most of the county offices, or off to Manchaca to find a Justice of the Peace.
We are growing faster than almost any other part of Central Texas and this is a big deal for us.
Look for the office to open up later in the spring, but the Grand Opening ceremonies are scheduled for early June. Sorry, I don't have the dates, but I think it's the first Saturday in June.
