THANK YOU, Circle C Ranch !

You listened, you heard, and you responded. You got involved!

In the past 12 months, a dozen of your neighbors sought to question the CCHOA management team, and in the process, they found each other! They banded together, they did their research, they read the rules - the CCHOA By-Laws, the Declarations, the Texas State Laws on Not for Profit organizations, and they studied how other HOA's around the country operated.

Sal Costello put up this web site for us, because in our modern world, we have no physical place to stand up and be heard. This is our forum.

Our CCHOA has many outdated By-Laws, rules, and policies which restrict free speech and which weighted everything they do so that it has became nearly impossible to challenge their stranglehold on our HOA.

Last night, CCHOA heard the voices of the silent majority of home owners, who are sick of their grandstanding and outrageous spending spree.

For example:

1) We have a very expensive, under utilized Swimming Facility. We can't afford it.

2) We have a board using our community resources to promote their one-sided agenda with no voice for other opinions. $100,000 in legal fees alone.

3) Our HOA still clings to the builders

We can fix those problems and YOUR massive turn out at the Feb 3rd meeting proved that YOU have the power and the motivation to take responsiblity back from the renegades.

YOU did it with your VOTES !

YOU did it when you filled out your PROXY and handed it to a tireless group of men and women who walked door to door, asking for you to help them.

This isn't politics as usual.

Those dozen volunteers actually had to PAY out of their own pockets to print flyers, yard signs, petitions, etc. They sought out legal help and it was donated. We worked for months, organized meetings (often daily meetings), we even hosted our own Town Hall meeting in November.

Nobody came to you with their hand out. Nobody makes a dime from any of the work we did.

We did it because it we saw a problem and we commited to fix that problem!

ALL YOU HAVE TO DO, IS VOTE !!

Remember when women won the right to vote? It wasn't all that long ago. They called it the SUFFRAGE MOVEMENT. Because voting isn't just a privilage for the powerful people in office, it's our RIGHT to vote!

It's the very least you can do.

Thank you for doing your duty and keeping DEMOCRACY alive and well in Circle C Ranch.
It may not always look good.....

But last night, Democracy in action was just plain beautiful! I thought people on both sides were respectful. No cat-calling. No booing or whisteling...We just had a very structered - although passionate - conversation about our neighborhood and its future. I think once people got the hang of it - they realized ''hey, this isn't so bad!''.

They also realized there are some issues the membership is best qualified to address. Why always go through a maze of committees and sub-committees and non-standing committees, when you can can decide in two hours what the BOD and critics couldn't resolve in 12 months?!

Last night showed that Democarcy can be both slow and deliberative AND clean and efficient. We have a real opportunity from this point to move forward.
