Next month it will be time to take nominations for the CCHOA board of directors. Now that we have 7 board members, you can expect an election for 2 or 3 members, every year. This a good rotation cycle and it gives the most motivated and talented members of our community, an opportunity to sit on the board.

Having attended most of the CCHOA board meetings, I can tell you that the work is exciting, full of surprises, and occassionally it offers some real interesting challenges. You will get an opportunity to meet a lot more of your neighbors, help set policies that help to protect, if not enhance our property values, and to make changes to keep Circle C Ranch the most watched neighborhood in Austin.

When things happen in Circle C Ranch, you can expect it will have ripple effects all over the county and sometimes right up to the state level. After all, many of state employees, judges, and other elected officials live in our community. We have one of the most active HOA's in Texas, we have some of the best amenities of any neighborhood, and we are growing faster than any other subdivision in the state right now.

Personally, I belive that it's combination of our Master Planned Development, our committement to a high quality life style, and our efforts to incorporate the best environmental policies into our daily lives. We enjoy 100 acres of landscaped common areas, gardens, trails, and huge mowed fields.

And by next Christmas, we will have a brand new H-E-B and about 10 new stores in the Escarpment Village project. We can also expect the Southwest Shopping Center project to be well underway, although they have recently changed the name. (William Cannon and Mopac).

And, if CAMPO keeps it's promise, the Toll charges won't go into operation on MOPAC in March, as is currently scheduled. That bridge is almost ready, but for a few understandable rain delays; it's just about to be paved.

It's been a great year for CCHOA. My hat is off to the new board of directors, who stepped up to the plate and got a huge amount of work done this year. They attended public hearing, met with the Mayor and other city council members, the county commissioners, and they stayed in touch with the local developers, too.

You can expect a much improved annual budget report this year and we already had a good audit report. The financial situation is positive and new amenities should be going in next year. The annual HOA meeting in March will be very interesting and there will be a LOT of news to report to you all.

Merry Christmas!
