Neighborhoodlink.com hosts this web site. We have it, because it is not controlled by Circle C developers or CCHOA. This chat and information site currently encourages anonymous user accouts, too!

Like anything, there are pros and cons to this web site, and earlier this month, the hosting company forwarded a survey to it's web coordinators, asking for opinions on features and ideas for future changes.

Already, you may have noticed the context related adversising the shows up on the right hand margin of the web pages. This is no accident - it is an intelligent way to highlight the web site's major sponsors and contributors. You should be used to this on the major web site, especially the search engines like Google, Yahoo, Alta Vista, and others. Expect more of it, too.

But, in the chat area, there may be some new changes, as well.

CCHOA has a new web site, of course, and it has an optional chat forum. The board has been condidering how to use that forum, if at all. There are valid concerns about mis-use, objectional posts, and serious questions about what is appropriate and what is not. The bottom line is that he CCHOA web site belongs to the members, so don't hesitate to share your ideas and opinions.

Personally, I have suggested that the HOA implement the forum, as soon as possible. It WILL be monitored. You can expect the policies for use will not included anonymous accounts. Every user will be registered, but how they are identified is still open for discussion. Abusers can expect to be cut off, or at least denied the right to post again.

I would suggest that all posts be reviewed before they are posted, which would require a lot more work from the chat site monitors, but it would keep the discussions more focused.

At the same time, the CCHOA staff would have to formulate a policy about what they will respond to and in what time frame. Currenlty, they do managed a lot of phone calls and email messages. Posting on a chat site may be more effective, since many of us often have the same questions.

Your opinions are important to me and to the CCHOA organization. Keep them coming in.

All posts reviewed?

I'll have to disagree with you on that one, sounds a little too big brother for my tastes.

I guess it would succeed in keeping the discussion focusted on what the monitor wanted it focused on...

Are You Above The RULES?

I expect both the homeowners and the Web site coordinators abide by the same rules. Homeowners deserve an explanation if the posts were being deleted.

Where is Freedom of Speech?!

Sept 28, 2004

I was shocked, angry, sick, disgusted and disappointed of noticing that several of my posts were disappeared. Can anyone explain to me why my posts were being deleted?!
