?• Promised by TXdot as a Tax Paid Freeway 4.5 years ago.
?• It began construction last year with our Tax Dollars.
?• It was Targeted as a ''conversion'' Toll for the 1st time April 12, 2004
?• A Circle C family could easily pay more than $300 to $500 a year in tolls for Wm Cannon overpass.
(.30 to .50 cents toll x 2 (round trip) x 1.5 trips a day average x 365 days a year = $328.50 to $547.50)
?• Home values
?• We pay more than downtown vicinity residents in gas taxes (by virtue of typically longer commutes) yet receive less in benefits from Campo.
?• The Tax revenue from this overpass Toll will go outside of SW Austin to Travis, Williamson counties as well as the expansion of IH35.
?• Circle C residents have virtually no benefit from existing ''public transit'' options, yet we pay as if we live in the downtown vicinity where all benefits reside.
?• Asking for a reasonable roadway - one that is already under construction using our tax dollars - does not seem unreasonable as our share of the pie.
