The new bridge and extension of Escarpment Blvd is now open. Come on down and check it out.
This project is a perfect example of big changes in our community that all of us should have been able to discuss in public forum. Lets not let the next one slip by without your permission. In the future, CCHOA needs to at least survey the members, if not put it up to a vote.
Your opinion does count.

Fire Station??
Wherever it's going to be - there's absolutely no sign of it it. No foundation, no framing - nothing...And to think, it's supposed to be ''under construction''?
I also thought it was a pretty nice bridge just to handle firetrucks...Although my three year old thought it was a lot of fun!

Rails
What is up with all those ugly rails on the Escarpment Extension? That is a poor design solution.

Safety Rails
I think the rails are there to keep the fire trucks out of the trees!? Just a guess.
The Fire Station plan isn't look real good right now. I wonder if they plan to put up a signal light down there. I nearly got hit by a bike natzi !! Seriously, there isn't any bike lane at that point. Seems like there should be an acceleration lane.
It's a little hard judging traffic, even if you are just turning west - that hill hides the very fast moving cars.
But, when I was down there this morning, kids were on their bikes and people with baby strollers were admiring the new bridge work, and it really was a nice day.
Carl, thanks for the heads up on that event !!
