Here are excerpts from my resignation letter from the Adhoc Bylaws Committee, dated 9/14/03. Almost one month later, only talk by the Board has occurred; think about it.
''Our ad-hoc Bylaws Committee has been a group of excellent, knowledgeable people. I'm saddened that my work, hours, time and energy have been wasted. I have better things to do with my time; directing my efforts toward people and organizations that appreciate hard work and contributions to effectively manage and lead with ethics. Obviously CCHOA leadership does not.
I resign my position from the Bylaws Committee. As I had told you about a week ago, I had planned to resign by October if there had been no action by the Board on a public hearing or moving forward with the Bylaws. The date is only two weeks away, and I don't honestly believe the Steering Committee, nor the Board, will do anything with the draft bylaws by that time. Therefore, I resign from the Committee effective immediately...
After reviewing in detail, commentary on the draft bylaws by Ken Rigsbee, I restate what I have previously said. He should be summarily removed from the Board and CCHOA leadership due to his derogatory, disrespectful, and unprofessional behaviors. Instead, the CCHOA Board condones his behavior by permitting his continued leadership on the Board...
Based on the stalling to schedule a public hearing this summer, I honestly believe the Board didn't plan to call a hearing and would attempt to thwart passage of any bylaws that might impact changes in organization and ethics and professionalism.
I am not surprised that Ken Rigsbee basically said in his comments about the draft bylaws for us not to mess with the way the Board operates - he thinks they have everything under control. He doesn't understand that the CCHOA being under the tight control of three people for greater than 10 years, with extreme conflicts of interest, is unethical, inappropriate,and not in the best interest of the CCHOA members.
Since I'm copying Ken Rigsbee on this, I want him and the CCHOA Board to understand that not all CCHOA members are ignorant as Rigsbee believes. You're right Ken, this isn't the PTA, but it is an organization composed of homeowners who can very well vote you and every board member out of office at any time. It only takes a majority vote, according to the current CCHOA Bylaws. The time will come when the reign of these unethical leaders will end. It is only a matter of time when sufficent numbers of the CCHOA members realize and understand the experiences I have observed and found to be true over the past several months of my being involved with CCHOA activities.

I continue to stand by my comments. Each homeowner should call for a special meeting to vote on the Bylaws and get these Board members out of office.
It's your Homeowner's Association. Not a Homeowner's Association that is here for the direct benefit of the Board members.
