Grab that anchor Wally!
Wally,
Congratulations, It looks like someone grew some ''cahones''.
But, the point you have missed is very simple.
Our HOA is not a private company. It is a nonprofit corporation that we are all members of. The members, homeowners are owners of the CCHOA.
But the old board has treated the HOA as their private club. Last year not calling people back that wanted to be on committees. This year putting committees together, with their friends at the helm of course, but ''setting aside'' the work of the committees.
Being a members of that corporation, every homeowner has the right to vote them out. That is what the neighborhood is doing. That is why we expanded to 7 board members. People are tired of the deals and special interests coming first. It's time the homeowner comes first. The pool is ours. The swim team can go elsewhere. It's nice that the swim team does not bother you. But last years survey (that the board wanted to keep secret) revealed numerous comments to get the swim team out of our neighborhood. Out of our pool.
Ethical behavior that is expected when my money is involved. Your tired old excuse: ''It costs to much to bid out contracts, we'll just give the contracts to Susan Hoover.'' REALLY? Not for long. People are speaking up with their votes Wally. Nobody buys that crap here.
HOA's around the county don't give contracts to friends, they bid them out. Get a clue. Say it with me E..T..H..I..C...S
That's almost as sad as Rigsbees excuse for not wanting more than 3 BOD. He said it would cost more to make xerox copies for additional directors.
If there is nothing to hide, why has O'Reilly been hiding? Why won't he answer these simple questions about the land deal he had with Stratus?
Our BOD are not to financially benefit from their positions.
1. How much did you pay for the acre of land on Mopac?
2. When did you purchase it, and from who?
3. How much did Stratus pay you for this land in October 2003?
4. Will you provide the members with all documentation to support your answers?
Wally, I admire your....um...courage?.... to step up and grab hold of that anchor while on it's way down.
