Dear Ms. Sun,
I received the attached e-mail in error. However, as the return preparer for the Circle C Child Development Center, I feel I should respond. I have made Ms. Kerri Baker, Director of the Center, aware of your request. In the future, please contact them directly as all request should come through them.
The Center is required to make available the most recent three years of returns. They have authorized me to release this information directly to you. The charge associated with copying the documents is $1.00 per page. For the most recent three years available, 2002, 2001 and 2000, the charge will be $54.00. Upon receipt of your check, we will immediately comply with your request. The tax return for 2003 has not been prepared as yet. The Center can provide you with the financial statements for the most recent year ended December 31, 2003.
Returns from earlier years are archived and the Center is happy to furnish those. However, because that request is outside the scope of the Center's requirements, the cost associated with those years will be greater. I will need to make a trip to our storage facility and locate the retired files. If indeed you are still interested in prior years' returns, please let me know and I will determine the associated cost.
Because the Center is classified as a private operating foundation, it does not make current exemption applications. As long as it meets current IRS operating guidelines, its default status is that of an exempt private foundation. I sincerely hope this information is helpful.
