Just when you thought it was safe in the neighborhood, the Wal-Mart nightmare is back !!
As many of you remember, Richard Suttle, Jr, the mouthpiece for Wal-Mart noted that if Endeavor backed out of their commercial plan, any company could come right back and deal directly with the land owner, instead of working through Endeavor. Aparently, Endeavor hasn't given up the bad idea, either!
Actually, ANY Big Box Discount Warehouse could do it. After Wal-Mart abandoned their Endeavor design plans, you may recall, the land owners sued the city. Well, now they are going back and asking for an extension of the SAME PLAN ! They are back !!
Check this out:
Wal-Mart won?’t be operating at the corner of Slaughter and MoPac, but the owner of the tract, SR Ridge Limited Partnership, is still seeking city approval for a site plan identical to the one filed last summer on behalf of the world?’s largest retailer. City officials confirmed yesterday that engineers for the partnership had gotten an extension of time to update the site plan that lay dormant for about two months after Wal-Mart and Endeavor Real Estate Group announced they had withdrawn from the deal on October 1.
