City Requirements for Annexation
My guess is that you were not around when the City of Austin was annexing Circle C.
We had twice per week garbage pick up and that was great for our community. Trash stinks when it sits for a long time, ie. especially a week.
Since we had twice weekly trash service before annexation, the city was required to give us the same services we had before annexation...so they let us opt out of their trash service and contract our own.
We went through quite a lot with the annexation and for you to suggest we get less than we all insisted on having is absurd.
Perhaps some did not have their trash out today because of spring break and not being around to collect the garbage that we normally have.
The service we have now also will pick up bulk items at no extra charge if you call them ahead of time. Try getting The City of Austin to do that! With spring cleaning of yards, etc. there is alot of work done on the weekends that is bagged up and set out for trash pick up. This would cost a fortune if we had City of Austin picking it up!
As for myself and a whole lot of other long time residents of Circle C, we want to keep the services we always had before we were annexed.
Thanks!
