I agree with many of the recent postings regarding the landscape maintenance here in Circle C. I just want everyone to know they are pretty much on the money. I have alot of experience in large commercial landscape maintenance, construction and design. If I was the account manager for a similar property, and it looked the way ours does, I would have been fired some time ago. The quality of the job is what concerns me. The problems are obvious superficial ones and some more fundamental. The list is long and space does not permit it here. In addition, I have asked a couple of my former peers to give me informal prices for this contract, and they have matched or beat what we are paying. And these are reputable, experienced contractors who work on some of Austin's best properties. All conflict of interest arguments and innuendo aside, remember that it is the quality of the job and the price that matter.

overall look has gone downhill

Thanks for posting Tony, It's great to see a neighbor who is familiar with this profession, comment on what many have been discussing. Some neighbors that have been here for 10 years or more also realize that the overall look has gone downhill over the years.

I'm not a professional landscape person, but even I realize that we even have the wrong plants. For example: Roses are the most time intensive plant to keep up, and they simply aren't as nice or time efficient as some other ''color'' plant options.

Landscaping crew dumping trash

I was leaving this morning and watch the landscaping crew cleaning out the weeds and trash and dumping them on the property across from Kiker Elem. I actually think it might be Stratus property but whatever... even if this stuff is bio-degradable we should not be dumping this stuff on others property. I watch the crew carry at least 3 bins of stuff from one side of the street to the other. Aren?’t they suppose to dump it properly or at least compost it? Maybe I'm wrong? What do others think?

A few details please

Tony - Can you post one or two examples of the problems you've noted? I'm not in the landscaping business so I don't have as discerning an eye as you.

As far as the overall look of the subdivision, maybe some areas are looking worse than others. I think the re-planting of Escarpment with live oaks and crepe myrtles has been a big improvement. As far as roses being the wrong plants, I don't know - YMMV. Soemtimes I like to stop and smell them.
